For any of you using Google Chrome as your browser, I recently discovered a new application that I find I use all the time so I thought I would share it.

Honestly, I am not sure if Firefox and other browsers offer a similar app…I haven’t found one…but I may have missed it and if there is one and someone is aware of it I would love a blog comment leading me to the app

I am certainly not familiar with all the apps out there but this one is so handy and makes keeping notes so freaking easy that I just have to share it.

The name of the Google Chrome app. is: “Note Anywhere”

And, just like the name implies, you can leave a note on any website you navigate to. So, how is that different that any other note application? The note will be there when you navigate back to the site!

This is invaluable to me. Normally once you’ve clicked out of the site you are on…the note is gone too. But not with “Note Anywhere.”

For example…I recently signed up for a trail run on Doba.com with recurring payments of $59 a month after the trail period is over. (I am interested in drop shipping (not so much for myself but my daughter is starting a site).

Many times when you sign up on these sites it is hard to locate the cancel button before they end up charging your credit card or Paypal for services.

So, the first thing I do now when I join one of these trial runs via subscription to a site is to log in and locate the cancel link/button info.

I place one of these “note anywhere” type notes on the page exactly where the “cancel” info is. That way when I check into the site (often times it’s last minute with me) the yellow note is staring me in the face reminding me that I need to cancel.

You can clearly see the “note anywhere” that I’ve left myself.  Every time I sign in here the note is there…front and center for me to see…and most importantly REMEMBER to cancel in time!

Now, taking it a step farther…here is another screen shot inside my Doba account where the actual cancel info is located. To keep from having to search everytime I landed here…or at the moment I need to cancel I placed another “note anywhere” so that I never have to search more than once for that cancel info and I can access it immediately after going into my account.

These type applications are priceless to me. I do however wish that this application actually worked to stay within Gmail. In other words, I placed a note on top of my Gmail screen reminding me about my Doba subscription and then clicked out. Unfortunately it does not come back up with your mail.

There is however a way to keep that note attached to gmail. Notes Anywhere automatically creates a list of your “notes” for you and you can easily access this list by clicking the “notes anywhere” icon located next to your browser window.

Click the icon and from the drop down menu click the “options” link. Once inside options click the “notes summary” and a list of all your placed notes will appear.

If you access your gmail account using your active “notes anywhere” link the note you placed will be on top of your mail where you left it. It is not visible if you use another way into your gmail.

Here are the features that “Note Anywhere” offers:

• On any page, you can make a note on the web page…on any position
• The notes get saved in real time
• All notes can move by mouse: drag and drop (love this!)
• When you go to the page again…the notes get loaded immediately

• A notes summary feature so you know where you’ve placed your notes!

After adding the app, a little icon will appear on your screen right next to your browser bar.

Right click and you will see menu options. They have made it so easy to disable, uninstall or hide the button if you wish.  Then click the options button and check out the options.

As you can see, they have options for larger text (yeah) text color and background color so you can really taylor this so that it suits you.

I hope you enjoy using this application as much as I do. Now you will never have to wonder why you bookmarked a certain page! Your “note anywhere” will be there to tell you

Micro-Job Sites are evolving folks. What probably started out as a half-baked idea in someone’s mind has now morphed into a legitimate way of outsourcing online projects as well as many offline and silly projects.

Fiverr started the true “fever” and it didn’t take long for these Micro Job sites to start popping up all over the web. The original idea was for people to list “whatever it was they were willing to do for $5.”

All it takes is one wildly successful online website/idea and entrepreneurs see ~~~~~Opportunity~~~~~

Creative entrepreneurs quickly got programmers busy creating the cloned Fiverr scripts that they knew would soon be in high demand.

They knew they could make money with these scripts…either selling them as clones or setting them up as a business platform for themselves. Entrepreneurs have a nose for these kinds of things...or maybe they’re just paying attention

Ever thought of starting one of these sites yourself? I have…and I am still seriously considering it. I noticed that Jeff Mills of outsourcing fame has his own site that recently opened the doors called “Seven Stew.” This site is totally dedicated to Internet marketing and related tasks.

Whether you are a fan of Jeff’s or not, you can’t deny that the guy knows how to make money online…and, if he jumped into this game then I believe there is big money potential.

As the scripts were being hurriedly cloned and created (all jockeying to be the first released) business entrepreneurs across the globe started “Googling” …”Fiverr clone script” looking for a script to copy the success of Fiverr.

It was not hard to see ‘opportunity’ for those with “eyes that see.”

You know what they say…

“….build it and they will come….”

and so they did.

and, so they are…

And the Fiverr fever continues to evolve and is really just in it’s infancy.

The quick popularity of these sites set a flurry of imagination into action from hungry entrepreneurs…worldwide…as they expanded choices to include much higher price points…which in effect gave them the ability to offer much more complicated services that take longer to complete.

No longer are you limited to gaining followers on Twitter or Facebook…or buying backlinks, articles or blog posts.

You can now legitimately order services such as a customized 10 page website built for you personally for $250.00.

For example, I recently received a very nice email from the owner of Website Marketing HQ, Sandip, who had seen my recent listing of Fiverr site clones. He introduced me to his new site that just recently opened the doors.

Funny because I had just finished writing a new report…actually it is a directory…of all the Micro Job Sites that are alive and active online (110 so far!) and I distinctly remembered this site. (I will be putting a link to my new report on this blog soon)

As the owner states, “the site differs from other fixed price jobs sites as, we only focus on website marketing projects.”  I really like that and would frequent this site for that reason alone.

Working online has caused me to think in “niche” terms all the time and I honestly believe these marketplaces that are scaling down into a definitive niche will be highly successful.

This is also one of the newer sites that has expanded their horizons to include higher price points. You can order/offer services here from $2 to $2,000.

Website Marketing HQ

An added feature that Website Marketing HQ offers is the ability to rate someone with a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” right next to the service offered and right on top of the “Order Now” button.

Such transparency should keep things upfront and honest and make it easier to find the cream of the crop and avoid any losers that may be lurking.

As many of the Micro Job Sites do, Website Marketing HQ uses the Agriya script...the new Ultra Platform that allows automatic payments to be made through Paypal.

If it’s not automated…I don’t want it

By having higher price points, these sites are attracting vendors who can offer services that simply will not fit into the lower price points previously offered.

This allows anyone wishing to make money on the side with a specialized skill, to offer it on one or many of these higher price point sites and make much more in commissions than they could from offering a $5 skill.

There truly is something for everyone now.

You’re only going to see more of these…with new creative variations becoming available as the concept continues to evolve.

You gotta love the ~~~entrepreneurial spirit!~~~

Fun Fact:

Zeerk.com another Fiverr clone that opened it’s doors in July of 2010…sold on Flippa in November of 2010 for $52, 500. That’s a sweet profit in just a few months. But alas…it has had problems since…with two failed auctions at Flippa that produced a mere $19,000 as the high bid.

Gigbucks.com, a Fiverr clone sold on Flippa for $5,500 back in August which seems a much more realistic price for a site that can easily be set up with a cloned script for under $1,000.

Price to launch a Micro Job Site is different for everyone depending on what script you buy and what adjustments/adaptations to the script you want to make.

I believe the Agriya script was selling for $1,000…not sure that includes the Ultra Platform. Any revisions cost extra.

There’s been a lot of “fever” about “Fiverr” lately…the economy/bargain basement outsourcing site where services are offered for $5.00 only.

Fiverr calls themselves “The place for people to share things they’re willing to do for $5.”

It’s easy to see why such a site would take off in popularity as more and more people realize the value in outsourcing and $5 is an amount that is easily affordable.

But that’s only one area of services you can tap into…as you can see from the menu on the right, you can get everything from programming to everyday tips and advice to making video, writing, social marketing and there are even “Fun and Bizarre” services. (you will find yourself browsing when you have time because some of these services really are bizarre  )

I do know marketers who have used Fiverr for SEO purposes like backlinking and social marketing services like tweets to twitter and building facebook and twitter fans….and they’ve been successful doing so. I also know marketers who have used video creation services with success too.

Remember…you are only being charged $5 for these services so there are limitations in what you can expect.

As with all successful things, it wasn’t long before the Fiverr script (assuming they were the first) was cloned and similiar sites starting appearing all over the net. Of course this is good for us because we have many more choices…

Here’s a short list of the sites I’ve discovered…some of them allowing services up to $100 or more. These sites can obviously expand your horizons a bit because more services can be offered for $100 than for $5.

• JustaFive.com:  Services for $5, $10 or $20
• Gigbucks.com:  Gigs ranging from $5 to $100
• Gigswood.com:  Gigs for $4, $9 and $1
• Zeerk.com:  Services for $5, $10, $15, $25, $50, $75 and $100
• Jobsfor10.com: Micro-Job Marketplace offers services for $5, $10, and $20. They originally started out with just $10 jobs but have expanded…hence the name
• TenBux.com: Services for $5 and $10
• 7Freelance.com: This site is a little more targeted and offers freelance services for writing, graphics, data entry and web design
• Tenyt.com: Services for $10. Nice refreshing format…different from some of the cloned sites above

and just recently I discovered two more:

• Gigtask.com: which at the time of this posting was having a bit of difficulty showing on my browser…possibly it will be fixed when you get there. I know it exists because I was just there the other day

Now I want to introduce you to:

TaskArmy.com…another freelancing site that is focused on web development, web design, copywriting, va’s, translation etc. In other words…there are no “bizarre” or “funny” choices here.

This eliminates the fluff found on the other sites and offers services directly related to helping you succeed online.

From what I can tell after browsing the site is that services here can range up to $199.

They do have an escrow service but they have eliminated the bidding and waiting and simplified the process of outsourcing for many tasks that didn’t really require jumping through hoops to get it done.

I personally think this is a great idea because some services are simple enough…but become difficult when you have to sign up at one of those bidding sites and fill out all that extra info.

You can get things done quickly and fairly on these sites and it makes outsourcing a lot more fun. These sites definitely service a high demand niche.

Each one of these sites has their own set of rules and restrictions so make sure you read the policies on each one…don’t assume they are the same.

Most have small fees that are built right into the fee paid.

And now  I am going to list a recent bargain that I discovered OR SO i THOUGHT.

Anyone who has been working online for any amount of time will be familiar with Camtasia as the premier screencast and video production/editing software. This sells for $299 on their site.

I personally could not believe the price and so I bought a license and it is working properly. I assumed these licenses were legal (yeah I know…a bit naive and way too much trust in a site)…or this guy would easily be booted off this site and banned from using it.

I wanted to be right…but of course I was wrong…so be careful about what you order and be logical

Update:

These  licenses turned out to be “cracked” code licenses…which will get you into Camtasia but you won’t get updates.

I will not be partner to any action like this and have written to him about getting money back.

It’s as all things in life…you get what you pay for and I’ve learned a valuable lesson…that these sites can lead into some bad lanes and you must use your logic sometimes to get past your excitement.

But…it will be interesting to follow up Taskarmy and how their resolution center handles this if the money isn’t refunded by Sanjeev. So, all in all, it is another chapter for my book and it will be a test of  TaskArmy’s integrity.

My job is to bring you these fun and money saving tips/sites…but it is up to you to check the validity of their offerings before you purchase. Write them and ask questions.

One may wonder why these people offer services so cheap. It’s the perfect advertising platform as they are allowed to put their business links on their pages so they get traffic and possible new clients in exchange.

As the evolution of outsourcing continues to evolve we’ll see things get simpler, easier to use and much more friendly.

Hive Desk…your new automated outsourcing tool. Anyone who has started outsourcing or wants to begin outsourcing will most likely have the same question come up in their minds…”how can I track my outsourced worker as they are working?” In other words…how do I know my outsourced worker is actually working during the times they submit?

For those that have used oDesk for their outsourced projects,  they provide a solution/service that will track your outsourced worker as they are working on their computer. But for those who were not using oDesk there was no way to track workers on how effectively and efficiently they are using their time.

Good news for those interested in this type program….

I recently was invited as a Beta tester for this new program called “Hive Desk.” Here’s how Hive Desk describes their service:

“HiveDesk makes outsourcing an easier process for both hirers and workers. It is a web and software solution used to help employers keep track of their workers by automatically tracking time and by sending periodic screenshot updates. This helps automate the flow of information from worker to boss, who are usually separated geographically.”

Basically this is how the system works:

Workers install  the desktop application software. The app runs quickly and quietly in the background. When ready to work, they use it to check in to your project.

Once an employee checks in, the timer starts. Their data is logged on their servers so you know how much time they’ve spent on your project. This mean accurate billing, and no time inflation.

It even has a option to allow a certain amount of  “idle” time (it is set at 5 minutes…but you can change it to your own needs or wants)

After 5 minutes of idle activity, the user is recognized as idle until they return. Idle minutes are subtracted so you’re not billed.

To keep you in the loop, screen shots of the desktop are uploaded and shared in ten minute intervals. Employees can delete screen shots at any time, but must provide reason with it.

So, why would people use HiveDesk?

• Save money! No more wasting money on your dollar…or inflating the hours worked. You can also save fees on other outsourcing portals by migrating your team here.
• Increasing information flow: With screenshots uploaded every 10 minutes, you will never be in the dark as to where you projects progress is. It also allows you to know immediately if something has been done wrong and it can be fixed without wasting anymore time.
• Building trust and relationships: The point of HiveDesk is not to control or micro-manage your workers, but to help you to build trust and loyalty. Additionally, many times you must hand over personal information suech as private codes, and passwords etc. to strangers which is never a comfortable feeling. HiveDesk makes the process safer and easier.

Sounds pretty efficient doesn’t it? Honestly I have been poking around inside…looking at the options but I have not actually implemented it. I sort of have mixed emotions about it.

Although I think it is an excellent product and something that was definitely needed you must take care to evaluate your own situation. If you already have your outsourced worker in place and you don’t doubt any of the times they are submitting you may not want to upset the apple cart by asking them to download a new program that will track their time.

Some outsourced workers…if they are already in place and doing a great job will be offended by this move and see it as a “trust issue.” So, you must use judgment in each situation.

On the other hand, if you have not yet started your outsourcing journey, you may want to implement this from the start of your projects  and only hire someone who agrees to download and use this platform. Using it from the start will not offend anyone whereas I feel that if you try and implement it after the fact…you may run into some very disallusioned workers….thinking that you no longer trust them.

HiveDesk continues to grow and add new options. You will soon have the ability to pay your outsourced workers through their site too.

Is HiveDesk for you? Only you can make the decision about whether this program can add value to your business. Many use a similar thing in oDesk with great success…and, no problems.

It’s been nearly two months since I joined Tyrone’s Mass Outsource MasterMind so I thought I’d finally give you that update that I’ve promised for a couple of weeks now

First I’d like to say that I am really enjoying this class. It is well organized with videos to explain everything that is taught. In fact, Tyrone supplies us all with videos, pdf’s and mp3′s…so, no excuses for not learning.

There are 8 modules in this course starting with 1: A General Overview of Employing Virtual Staff and ending with Module 8: Setting Your Business In Automatic Mode.

The first area that Tyrone addresses is “Developing the Outsourcing Mindset.” Inside our first lesson, we learned about the 80/20 rule and what this rule has to do with us. Anyone who has read Tim Ferris’ book the “4 Hour Work Week” will be familiar with this rule.

Basically the 80/20 rule is that in your life, 80 percent of your outcomes come from 20 percent of your inputs. Or you can say that 20 percent of your activities produce 80 percent of your financial rewards.

According to Wikipedia: The 80/20 rule was named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. He observed that 80% of income in Italy was received by 20% of the Italian population. The assumption is that most of the results in any situation  are determined by a small number of causes.

In Tyrone’s case, these are the examples of the 20% activities that produce 80% percent of his income:

• Networking with others through Skype and email. this establishes relationships and eventually leads to doing business together in the form of partnerships or JV’s or gaining affiliates.
• Writing newsletters and sending them to customers…this continues to build that all important relationship.
• Creating video content to  provide value to readers. This also creates other business opportunities and markets the business brand.

So, this was our first real exercise, to write down what the 20% of activities are in our business that produce 80% of our income. The second question/part of the exercise was to list the remainder of the activities that don’t generate income but need to be completed. This helps to determine which activities need to be outsourced to staff to complete.

Another important idea that Tyrone pulled from Tim Ferris is the acronym called D-E-A-L.

• D is for definition: You need to define what you want out of this whole outsourcing course and also what you want to achieve within your own business. This idea is not new and any successful business starts with a vision. Imagine in your mind what it is that you are trying to achieve through this process.What is your dream?Are you like me, do you want to travel? Define it.

• E is for elimination: How you look at your day and split it up into the 80/20 principle. Apply that principle to eliminate the things that are not dollar productive and focus on things that will make money. This is where outsourcing comes in.You train your staff to do the activities that are not dollar productive such as all your admin duties that can be very time consuming. This frees you up to tend to those activities that are producing income.

• A for automation: Automating your business by having everything in place such as a project management system for your outsourcers to check into and the correct system to have in place to run and receive payments from customers so that your virtual staff can handle these things for you and make sure that it goes into the right account.

• L is for liberation: Now that one brings a smile to my face. Liberated! Free! Doesn’t just the idea of it excite you? Liberation is all about living your dream lifestyle, designing your whole life…free to live it has you see fit and not have to worry about anything dealing with your business because your virtual staff is managing the business for you. This will happen over time.

  This one is the long term strategy or goal. This is achieving your desired lifestyle.

World in your hands

Tyrone does an excellent job of supplying the education, the tools, advice and resources…but in the end, its up to us to take the action steps to make this all happen.

Module 1:  basically covers everything from why you should outsource, to how you should hire, how to pay, what work to give, and how to manage your virtual staff. There are 10 videos in this series.

Module 2: Developing the outsourcing mindset. Tyrone also introduces his Mass Outsource sytem in this module.

Next up in my series on Mass Outsource Mastermind is Module 3: Hiring Virtual Staff. In this module we’ll cover everything from finding the best virtual staff to suit your business, to how to screen them, what you can expect and the guidelines for managing them.

I really believe understanding and applying the 80/20 principle is the key to making all of this work. This is what brings clarity to us about our business and what our role should be.

At the end of the last post I promised to update my journey into Tyrone’s Mass Outsource Mastermind course. And, I do promise that I will give a detailed progress report in just a few days. But, I recently ran into a website that I’ve been totally smitten with and there is a contest running there with a time frame that needs to be addressed.
