I enjoyed the read - thanks............ BUT, I'm pretty sure that Socrates was talking about his home in Cyprus - the Mediterranean Island (and it doesn't pay to call that a part of Greece!!). I spent a few months there in 1974, lovely Island, steeped in History of the Med (even if not as much as Malta). Luckily, I flew out a week before the Turkish Forces landed in the North and "appropriated it". When I went back in November it looked bit of a mess, but it's back to being a grand place again now and I have several friends from the Island. One of these days I'll get back there and finally visit Mt Troodos. So - just thought I ought to add this as I'm sure Socrates is from Cypriot stock.
