Well, it’s been a few days since I posted…actually too long. There have been some major changes that occurred in my life in that time span.
I have become a statistic! Yep, I was laid off…well, not actually laid off, they eliminated my job. That’s the problem when you have a specialized job…which I did. You’re one of the first to go. It’s unbelievable how I am seeing my life change right in front of my eyes…all since I took the “action” step and joined John Thornhill’s Marketing MasterClass. I was really struggling to keep up…working 40 hours a week, tending my blog…writing my ebook…and trying to keep some semblance of decency to my house! I prayed for more time to devote to my new Internet business. Seems the Universe joined hands with me and now I am on my way.
I am both exhilarated (I really do feel liberated!) and a bit scared! But, I refuse to give any energy to ‘fear.’ The way I look at it, I am one step closer to being a success on the Internet. And, I am grateful! This is my dream…and, it’s manifesting!
Now, for a little education….
For those of you who have WordPress blogs and desire to integrate a membership script into it, I’ve discovered a great resource for you to use. In fact, it was created for WordPress and they guarantee it will work with any WordPress theme. They will also issue updates for the software to accommodate any new versions WordPress creates.
This product called WishList Member is produced by WishList Products….they provide powerful unique tools, resources and plug-ins for WordPress blogs. “This powerful membership script can turn any WordPress blog into a full-blown membership site.”
The best thing about it is since it was created expressly for WordPress, once you purchase, you simply unzip the file, upload it to your WordPress “plug-ins folder” and activate. It works whether you have an existing WordPress blog or you’re thinking about starting one.
There are numerous features…I’ll list a few of them here:
- Flexible Membership levels…means you can create Free, Trial, or paid Membership levels or any combination of the three.
- Sequential Content Delivery System…you can start your members on Module 1 and move them up to Module 2 etc.
- Shopping Cart…integrates with almost every shopping cart system including Paypal. Plus, it has total integration with 1Shopping Cart.
- Subscription length control…you can automatically expire a membership after 3 days, 7 days, or length of time you want. Important for a trial membership.
Content protection, secure RSS Feeds, log-in redirection…the feature list goes on and on. The best way to get acquainted with this relatively new software is to check it out for yourself…. WishList Member. There is a FAQ section that will answer a great deal of your questions for you as well as numerous videos that will educate you.
They have a full 30 day trial period for you to try it out for yourself. They offer two different licenses…
Single license: This entitles you to use all the features of WishList Member on one blog or domain. It comes with 3 months of support. The cost is $97.00
Double license: This option entitles you to install WishList Member on unlimited blogs/personal domains. It also comes with 3 months of support. The cost is $297.00
So, for all you bloggers out there who wish you could turn your blog into a membership site without scrambling your brain….WishList Member…is the answer to your wish!
Wishing you…Success!

Dear Kathy,
Yes, you ARE on YOUR way! It is always scary when somethings we have become so familiar with ‘dies’ (symbolically speaking) and we are offered an opportunity to change. As you know, I am wishing you the best of luck 🙂
Additionally, what a great resource you found! Thank you for sharing this ‘little’ gem with us!
Wishing you rippling success!
Svenja
Thanks Svenja…you’re always there with encouraging words.
Kathy, Well done on becoming a statistic! I think you’ll find that this is the catalyst that changes your life. I have been self-emoployed most of my life, but when working for another company I was also made redundant. It was the spur that made me start my own business, which became very successful. Best wishes and good luck for your future in Internet Marketing.
John
Thanks John…I do ‘see’ a new life for me. I am excited, a bit scared…and oh so grateful! Internet Marketing here I come!
Hi Kathy,
I agree with all of the above! I too was made redundant and I took the opportunity at 32 to go to university and do a degree. I never looked back. Hard times, but a change sometimes has to be forced or we stay exactly where we are, in that ‘safe place’. (Even though we don’t like being there always!)
Enjoy the journey.
Mandy
Mandy…always there with a ‘helping hand’ and words of encouragement! What would we do without you?!
Hi Kathy,
Everything happens for a reason as they say and I am sure your redundancy is just a step towards reaching your goals. I am almost envious, I say almost only because I still have a mortgage to pay and IM won’t pay that for me yet. Still, if I had more time… anyway, Kathy, all the best, I hope your business is a great success.
Best of luck,
Tracey
Hi Tracey,
Thanks for giving me a boost! I too still have to pay a mortgage…so, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit scared. But, I have to tell you, that I feel the Universe’s hand in all of this…very, very strongly. The story is long, but at this point I must have faith that all my dreams are starting to manifest right before my eyes.
Thank you Tracey…thank you to all my MC student friends who are always there with ‘support’ whenever I’ve needed them! They are simply the best!
Hi Kathy,
Like you have said yourself, now you are out of work so to speak, you now have the biggest reason to be a success and with all the time to do it in, i wish you all the luck in the world!
TTFN….Ed.
Hi Kathy
I would like to join with the other comments in wishing you well in your new role as a statistic. I hope it goes well for you and that you achieve the success you are looking for.
Best wishes
Ann
Have only just discovered the possibilities of using a membership plugin with wordpress, such as Wishlist member, and your post here makes me think that i really need to get on the ball and get a site up and runnning very soon, if not straight away.
So i guess i will need to buy it first ?
I was contemplating using Amember, but you have convinced me that this plugin is not only easier to use, but will do just about everything i would ask of a membership script
Hi Lee,
Thanks for stopping by. I don’t think you could go wrong with either aMember or Wishlist. AMember might take a little more techie savvy but they are both great programs to use with WordPress. Let me know how things turn out for you!
